The University of Göttingen, Germany invites applications for the scholarship awards “Dorothea Schlözer Female Scholarships” from the International female students who want to pursue their studies at the University of Göttingen, Germany. The University of Göttingen, Germany scholarships are awarded to the International Female Students who want to pursue their post-doctoral studies at the University of Göttingen, Germany. The University of Göttingen, Germany scholarships are awarded to the International Female Students who want to pursue their post-doctoral studies in any field or majors including Medicine, in an early postdoc phase offered at the University of Göttingen, Germany including the University Medical School. The University of Göttingen, Germany scholarships are awarded to the International Female Students for the academic year 2017- 18.

The Dorothea Schlözer Postdoc Program formerly known as Dorothea Schlözer Fellowship Program is a proportion of the Dorothea Schlözer Program. The program was formed by Göttingen University, Germany in April 2009 to boost equal chances and variety of people at the Göttingen research campus Germany. The positions exchange the Dorothea Schlözer Scholarships awarded since 2009. The seats will be given by the Presidential Board. There are possibilities for part-time work and contract extensions for scientists with caretaking responsibilities for children or relatives. These Dorothea Schlözer Female Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a project proposal and will give an option to further enhance independent research and prepare future third-party funding.

The Dorothea Schlözer Female Scholarships program at the University of Göttingen, Germany started in January 2017 and there will be 6 positions (TV-L 13, 100%, term of 2 years), two of which at the University Medical Centre (UMG).

Level of Study:

The University of Göttingen, Germany scholarships are awarded to the International Female Students who want to pursue their post-doctoral studies at the University of Göttingen, Germany including the University Medical School for the academic session 2017- 18.

Field of Study:

The University of Göttingen, Germany scholarships are awarded to the International Female Students who want to pursue their post-doctoral studies in any field or majors including Medicine, in an early postdoc phase offered at the University of Göttingen, Germany including the University Medical School.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants have to fulfil the following defined terms and condition in order to be considered as eligible for this University of Göttingen, Germany female scholarship awards:

  • All the young female postdocs related to all disciplines including Medicine, in an early postdoc phase, are eligible to apply
  • All the young female postdocs who are interested to conduct a research project at the Georg-August-University including the University Medical School.
  • The doctoral procedure thus the date of your thesis disputation should not have ended more than two years before the application. If you have done your doctorate more than two years ago, an application is still valid, though. You should, however, include a statement on this matter.

How to Apply:

The applications will only be accepted through the online portal of University of Göttingen, Germany. After submitting application online the applicants will receive an automatic confirmation of receipt via e-mail. The following documentation is to be provided:

  • A cover letter will be provided by the applicant at the time of application. It is optional but not mandatory.
  • The applicant’s recent and most updated curriculum vitae, including a list of publications and funding e.g. Scholarships, third-party funded projects etc.
  • A maximum of 10 pages exposé considering the planned work including bibliography.
  • All the University academic degree certificates (B.A. certificate, M.A. certificate or equivalent, Doctoral certificate or certification of successful disputation or scheduled date of disputation)
  • A maximum 1 page of short summary of the doctoral thesis.
  • Two references from scientists in your field
  • Two publications, article, book chapter, important public presentations etc.
  • All the candidates have to provide a statement from the institution where she has done her work.
